Blessed Chinese New Year!
We at Sunbeams Home would like to extend our blessings to all our well-wishers and supporters. May prosperity and blessings be upon you and your love ones. Happy Chinese New Year!
A ringgit a day will most likely do not impact your day-to-day living, but it is enough to make a significant impact on the lives of our children in Sunbeams Home. The fundraising possibilities of this campaign are endless, so could you spare us one ringgit a day, thirty ringgit a month?
In 1995 Pastor Alvin Tan a teacher by profession, became increasingly aware that many children under his tutelage required support and care. They were in desperate need of financial support and moral guidance.
His calling began when he and his wife decided to care for a young child by bringing him home as his parents were unable to do so due to unfavourable circumstances. From this humble and selfless gesture emerged his vision of starting a Home where he and his wife Pastor Lucy could devote their lives to the welfare of children.
Needless to say, those early years were fraught with numerous challenges yet Pastor Alvin never lost sight of his vision and mission. Over the years, he has given guidance and comfort to hundreds of children that were sent to the Home, coming from various backgrounds.
Through unwavering dedication and perseverance, Pastor Alvin has established separate homes for boys and girls staying at the Home in Klang Valley. While in the year 2008, Yayasan Sunbeams Home opened its new branch in Alor Gajah Malacca under the care of dedicated Home Manager Anthony Foo. Through the generous donation of caring individuals and the affection of the staffs at Sunbeams, children would continue to be protected and tended for at Sunbeams where they call home.

From Our Founder
” It is hard for me to believe that we have been on this journey for more than 25 years now, ever since I started building Sunbeams Home with my wife, the late Pastor Lucy and the people you see me working with today. It truly has been a blessed journey and only with the grace of God and the dedication from all those who wish to help that we are allowed to keep going and to keep growing. “
